Renowned artist XCOPY will be the first creator featured in the debut curated exhibition series of the $WHALE Vault scheduled for October 28th, 2021.

THE ARTIST

XCOPY is the master of boiling social commentary on the Metaverse down to vivid visual satire. Bankless lauds him as “one of the pioneering artists who’ve validated and raised up cryptoart since its very beginnings” with good reason. XCOPY is an NFT OG three years in the NFT scene. His first mints were on now-defunct platforms. Since then, his record-breaking sales have made him an artistic and financial force to reckon with.

His inimitable, symbolic and jarring style combined with historical provenance make XCOPY NFTs revered and extremely sought after.

One of his pieces, Some Asshole, sold for over 5 million dollars (1300 ETH) on September 27, 2021.

At this time, the $WHALE Vault contains 24 XCOPY artworks that were tokenized on SuperRare including The Amulet, WeWork Boi, Us and Them and One Love.

CURATION FOCUS

$WHALE founder WhaleShark, together with DeCryptolorian, $WHALE Head of Art, recently partnered with Breezy founder and curator, Eleanora Brizi, to organize and curate the esteemed $WHALE Vault holdings. Together with Breezy, WHALE looks to bring the Metaverse unique content and one-of-a-kind experiences from our collection of rare and valuable NFT digital art found within the $WHALE Vault. Our goal is to bring the stories of Vault artists to the forefront of the NFT community consciousness, implementing a host of different venues and approaches.

Breezy brings perspective to the $WHALE vault and its wealth of NFT treasures, providing custom-tailored narratives for each artist, theme, or piece. Highlights will include rich visuals, high-profile artist interviews, gallery events and other creative showcases. These interactive experiences look to foster connectivity between artists, their artwork, collectors, and the community.

EVENT DETAILS

On October 28th, the XCOPY art show opens on the Arium platform with an introduction by curator Eleonora Brizi. Brizi will present the curatorial concept of the show and discuss the NFTs. Attendees can communicate via a small cube icon which will enable them to virtually walk through the platform to create a collective experience courtesy of XCOPY. In addition, the $WHALE ONE BC gallery in CryptoVoxels will showcase all of the XCOPY pieces held by the $WHALE Vault throughout the month of November.
